Currently phonenumber.com redirects users to Whitepages. Upon searching, perhaps we can capture some insights into what the user’s motivations are when performing a search for a phone number by asking a series of questions before sending them to Whitepages. We utilized a database that enables us to store the information, and also easily update the questions as needed.

Understanding our user’s behavior means more opportunity for personalization. More personalization will ultimately drive stronger CVR and more revenue for the business.
OUTCOMES
This was for a Hackathon project in winter 2020. While this specific project isn’t something we decided to move forward with at this time, we have been able to use the concept for some of our organic traffic coming from search engines. This has enabled us to gain insights and help users find the correct person they are looking for. Our questions were based on the facets we have on our main search page, and we focused on keeping the brief and intuitive. 
Realizing that the questions could become a roadblock, we made sure to allow users the option to skip through. This was a balance between continuing to let organic traffic navigate to potentially incorrect results when following a link from a search engine, and helping the users find who they were looking for. We launched this to a small percentage of users and at the time of writing this, we have yet to make a call, but we are seeing engagement.
